Bathroom fixtures - atmosphere with LED strips
In the bathroom you can place the lights above the mirror, over the bath, in the shower, recessed in
the ceiling. You can use ceiling and wall fixtures, with LED strips you can backlight cabinets, ceilings, niches, bathtubs or sinks. Bathroom light fixtures are made in many designs and are an important part of the bathroom equipment, where we often have to rely primarily on artificial light. Using LED lighting -
particularly LED strips - you can now create an incredible atmosphere in a way that was previously not possible. Nowadays there is a wide offer on the market; special lights for wet rooms to satisfy even the most demanding
customers.
However, bathroom lights have their specifics: you need to know which lamps to use and what level IP (humidity protection) is suitable for placing where. At Rendl light studio, experts will advise you on the selection and will advise you on exactly what to watch out for. “For the bathroom we definitely recommend to use specifically designed bathroom fixtures, with protection for humid environments, at least IP44 or higher”, says Robert Švejkar from Rendl.
Pay attention to moisture protection
All bathroom fixtures must be provided with an IP label indicating the degree of moisture protection. The IP code is a two-digit number. The first digit indicates the degree of protection against solid particles, and the second digit represents the degree of protection against liquids. We choose IP protection according to where we want to place the light fixtures. The bathroom space can be divided into four zones, indicating how likely and frequent contact with water is in these places. According to these criteria then we choose the right place for bathroom lamps. “In the shower or above it must be lights with a minimum IP of 65”, explains Robert Švejkar.
